April Vacation Happenings at the Stevens Memorial Library

Steve Charette

The Stevens Memorial Library, 20 Memorial Drive, Ashburnham, will host the following free events for children and families during April school vacation:

On Tuesday, April 17 from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., origami artist Betty Gelinas will teach middle schoolers and teens to make “Origami Kusudama Flowers.” These paper flowers are stiff enough to last for years, and they make perfect gifts for teachers or family members. The flowers can also lend decoration to plant arrangements. Come and see what you can create! All materials will be provided. (If you have a hot glue gun, bring it along.) Class size is limited. Call (978) 827-4115 to register.

On Wednesday, April 18 from 2:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m., master magician and illusionist Steve Charette will amaze and amuse all ages with his magic. He can make cards and coins disappear and reappear, right before your eyes! This program is especially kid friendly. No registration is required.

On Thursday, April 19 at 10:30 a.m., Storytime and Craft for young children will feature a return visit from Miss Margaret! Geared toward children under age four but all are welcome. No registration is required.

On Friday, April 20, drop by the library between the hours of 10:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. to pick up a nature walk guide, then go outside to see what you can discover!

The library will be closed Monday, April 16 in observance of Patriots’ Day.
